Alvis cars were produced by the manufacturer Alvis Car and Engineering Company Ltd of Coventry, England from 1919 – 1967. The Alvis TD21 was a British sporting car made by Alvis cars between 1958 and 1963. The 2993 cc engine was again uprated, now producing 115 bhp. The Alvis 4.3 used the earlier 3½-litre engine as a starting point and Alvis increased its capacity to 4387cc for its range-topping Tourer. Power was uprated to 137bhp giving the 4.3 a top speed of just over 100mph. No chassis modifications were needed to house the new 4.3 unit.
